Happy Monday Friends! I want to start the week off with a healthy food post. Have you ever heard of an acai berry? An acai is a small purple berry found in the beautiful country of Brazil. It has gained much fame for having the richest antioxidant content of any naturally occurring fruit and even considered a super-food in the nutritionist community. Research shows that antioxidants help prevent diseases such as cancer, coronary heart disease, eye disease, and even altitude sickness. Antioxidants have also been linked to helping with mood disorders, immune system problems, and memory problems. The acai berry is also linked to weight loss because not only does it help lose weight, it helps maintain a healthy weight. Pretty awesome that one berry can do all this, right?
Last week I stumbled upon this neat little eatery called Luv-a-Bowl. Specializing in acai bowls, Luv-a-Bowl is a revolutionary eatery that offers nutritious options for a great price. So what exactly is an acai bowl? Similar to a smoothie, the frozen pulp of the acai berry is blended with various other fruits then topped with more fresh fruit, granola, and honey. Not only is it incredibly delicious and healthy, but it can also serve as a meal replacement. I can honestly tell you my friends, I am now addicted to these bowls. When I first visited Luv-a-Bowl I decided to go with their Limealicious Acai Bowl. The ingredients in this bowl included: lime, coconut water, G3 super fruit blend, acai berries, peaches, blueberries, and strawberries. It was then topped off with granola, strawberries, blueberries, coconut, and honey. Wow! If you like your smoothies a little sour- try the Limealicious.
If you are looking for a healthy alternative for your usual breakfast or lunch, try Luv-a-Bowl.
