Happy Tuesday friends! Today I am excited to announce that I am one of the High Museums new ambassadors! That means I will be able to share what exciting new projects and exhibits the Museum is featuring from now until the end of the year! To kick things off Robinson and I went to the museum last week to check out their most adorable exhibit yet, the one and only Winnie the Pooh! I don’t know about you but I’ve always had a sweet spot for Pooh. I was actually Piglet one Halloween when I was younger! Very fitting, right?
About the Museum
Located in midtown Atlanta, the High Museum of Art is the Southeast’s leading art museum. If you are ever driving down Peachtree, you can’t miss this beautiful building! Inside is even more stunning as it is home to a collection of historical and contemporary art, special exhibitions, and celebrated architecture by Richard Meier and Renzo Piano.
Exciting things are in the works at the High! Please note that there will be restricted access to certain galleries as they prepare for the reinstallation of their permanent collection this fall. During this time the Museum will still be open. Please visit their special exhibitions and join them for regularly scheduled programming.
Winnie the Pooh
The stories of Winnie-the-Pooh—a much-loved bear with a weakness for honey—have delighted both children and adults for more than ninety years. Pooh and his companions Piglet, Eeyore, Rabbit, Tigger, Kanga, and Roo were created by the writer A. A. Milne and illustrator E. H. Shepard. Generations of readers have been captivated by the adventures of Christopher Robin and his bear, and today Pooh remains one of the most popular children’s characters of all time. Growing up I always cherished this little bear and his crew so you can imagine how excited I was to share this experience with Robinson. The exhibit is absolutely beautiful and heart warming. I highly recommend taking your kids so they can get a glimpse into the history and legacy of Pooh through original sketches, photographs, memorabilia, and letters. The exhibition also includes interactive elements that bring Shepard’s illustrations to life!
This special exhibiting is going on now until September 2nd so hurry and head to The High Museum soon! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
