Happy Tuesday my friends! Great news- we have yet another culinary week upon us. This week kicks off the very first ever Virginia Highland Restaurant Week! Thriving with a variety of eclectic sidewalk cafes, lively night spots and distinguished dining destination, the Poncey-Highland, Virginia Highland and Morningside areas have gained a reputation of encompassing some of the city’s most renowned restaurants. Throughout Highland Restaurant Week, a variety of participating restaurants will be offering gourmet prix fix menus ranging from $10-$35 and include brunch, lunch and/or dinner.
The launch of Highland Restaurant Week will blend local ingredients with iconic flavors while encouraging you to explore and enjoy one of Atlanta’s most celebrated neighborhoods. Some of my favorite restaurants can be found in the Highlands! Here are a few of my recommendations for some of the participating restaurants:
Highland Tap: I recommend saving this little gem for the weekend and going for dinner. A must try is their slow roasted prime rib. It’s juicy and extra tender. Yum!
Murphy’s: You really can’t go wrong with ordering anything from this restaurant! Whether you go for brunch, lunch or dinner- I strongly suggest starting out with their calamari. Yum!
Genki Sushi: Everything on their menu is fresh and full of flavor but I recommend getting their “I Love Sushi Roll” and finishing off with tempura fried oreos. Yum!
Paolo’s: This is hands down the best gelato I’ve had in Atlanta. I recommend their Stracciatella flavor. Its the Italian gelato equivalent of chocolate chip ice cream. It’s a fior di latte base with chocolate bits in it. Yum!
Let me know what you go with! To see a full list of participating restaurants click here. Enjoy my friends!
