A special thanks to our friends at Discovery Cove for inviting us to visit their amazing resort! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Happy Friday friends! I hope that you had a wonderful Fourth of July yesterday! This year was extra special for us because Robinson saw fireworks for the first time! He was in such awe and actually started crying when they were over. It was so precious!
Last week I shared a full recap of our trip down to Orlando Florida. Today I want to dedicate a full post to one of the best parts about our trip – an unforgettable day at Discovery Cove. Have you heard of this magical resort? In case you haven’t, this post is for you!
Located across the street from Sea World, Discovery Cove® is an all-inclusive day resort where guests can enjoy a one-of-a-kind opportunity to swim with dolphins, snorkel among thousands of tropical fish and rays, hand-feed exotic birds, and encounter playful otters. With so much to do, you can choose from relaxing at the lagoons, swim with various sea animals or float along the lazy river. And the best part of it all- freshly prepared meals, snacks and beverages are included with your ticket!
Our Day at Discovery Cove
When we first arrived we were pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to find and how easy it was to park! Unlike a lot of other resorts and theme parks, Discovery Cove offered free parking for the day. We walked into the welcome center and were quickly greeted by the team. After checking in we were taken to our amazing cabana! The cabana came with a private area that included a hammock, mini fridge, table, chairs and snacks! It was a dream!!
Swimming with Dolphins
After getting into our wetsuits, we set out to explore the resort. We went swimming, ate lunch at the tropical cafe and then headed to swim with the dolphins. This was definitely the highlight of our trip! You have to be over the age 6 to swim with the dolphins so Drew and I each took turns watching Robinson. We both got to meet the dolphin Kaleigh and she was the sweetest dolphin I have ever met! Okay she’s actually the only dolphin I have ever met but she was exactly how I imagined a precious dolphin would be like. She made the cutest noises and even gave me a dolphin kiss! This was truly an experience of a lifetime!
The rest of the afternoon we spent floating the lazy river and eating more treats like ice cream and pretzels! Something unique about the lazy river is there is a portion that runs through a beautiful aviary! There are various types of birds and they even fly right next to you! I thought this was so neat and unlike any other lazy river I’ve floated on!
Perfect for the Whole Family
After spending the day at Discovery Cove, I can sincerely tell you that it’s worth visiting with the whole family. Even if you have a toddler like us, there is something for all ages. Robinson loved the lazy river and seeing the dolphins. They also have great food options including kids meals and vegetarian dishes. And they offer fun alcoholic drinks for the adults which make you feel like you have escaped to a tropical island!
I hope that you enjoy your visit at Discovery Cove and please tell Kaleigh the dolphin I say hello!
