Remember when you were little how you felt when your parents took you to Chuck-e-Cheese? Well that’s exactly how I felt this weekend at Taste of Atlanta. I had heard about it in the past but I was lucky enough to attend this year. Over 90 restaurants from all over Atlanta are featured at Taste of Atlanta.
We paid $30 for our tickets in advance and received 10 food tickets to use at the festival. At first I thought that 10 tickets would not be enough but the more I ate the more I realized that 10 tickets was perfect. I started out with a small sandwich from a food truck called Spiedie Zone. I got the Twilight Zone sandwich which came with lemon garlic marinated chicken with lettuce, tomato, onion, and tzatsiki sauce. Amazing!

Next I got a small fried cheesecake from Max Lagers that was magical. It was a bite size vanilla cheesecake inside a crispy deep fried shell. Yum!

Andrew’s favorite of the day was both dishes by the restaurant 1 Kept. Both options were remarkably good. I got the Grilled Pork Tenderloin with Logan Turnpike Mills Grits and Andrew got the Deviled Quail Eggs with Bacon Jam. When the server handed me the pork he said it was hot off the grill!

My absolute favorites were both food options I got from Atlanta Grill: Pork Belly with Rice Grits and Pickled Peach and their Guava Fried Cheese Cake. The food presentation alone was beautiful. The vanilla cheesecake was deep fried and served with a guava sauce. Heavenly!

My first Taste of Atlanta was such a wonderful experience! Not only did Andrew and I win a $10 gift certificate to Cafe Intermezzo but we also found many new restaurants to explore in Atlanta. I strongly recommend this culinary festival to anyone who loves the food in Atlanta.
