Happy Friday pretty friends! What are you up to this weekend? Perhaps you don’t have plans yet and you are looking for a fun, delicious new restaurant to try. Well I have just the one, Vine & Tap in Buckhead. This charming little restaurant is home to 225 bottle list, with all of those available by the glass. Vine & Tap even got rated as one of the top 21 wine bars in the country!
Last week my husband and I had the pleasure of trying out Vine & Tap for the first time. From the minute we sat down, we were immediately impressed with their lengthy wine selection. Owner and sommelier, Ian Mendelsohn, came out to welcome us and explain the wine list. He told us because of the Coravin technology, he is able to keep hundreds of bottles on the menu for his customers to try. Drew went with a rich Merlot while I went with a more crisp summer Riesling. Delicious!
To start the evening out Chef brought out Vine & Tap’s famous charcuterie and cheese board. Talk about love at first sight- everything was beautifully presented and tasted even better! The board came with farm fresh items like Iberico ham, pickled beets, califlower, smoked duck prosciutto, cherry compote and prosciutto de Parma. I cannot stress enough how delicious this charcuterie and cheese board was! We also ordered the White Bean Brushetta, which came with white bean, tomato, basil, evoo and parmesan. It was a fun twist on classic brushetta by adding the fresh white beans. Excellent choice if you are eating a heavier meal!
For entrees we ordered the Steak Frites and the Duck Confit, which came with puy lentils, baby carrots and carrot-top pistou. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and packed with flavor but the duck won best dish for us!
Last and certainly not least was dessert- a giant mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich. Both ice cream and cookies are made in house so they are extremely fresh. Absolutely delectable!
Looking for more of a lunch option? Starting on June 21, 2016, Vine & Tap will open for lunch for the first time to offer quick, convenient midday option heavily featuring New England seafood staples. You will be able to order at the bar, counter-service style, and Northeastern classics like Ipswich belly-cut fried clam strips, steamed shrimp, New England clam chowder and more will be served in transportation-friendly takeaway baskets. The full bar will be open and you can also sit at the restaurant or head back to the office with their meal. Menu prices will range from $3 for individual sides up to $22 for the lobster roll box, with meal combinations mostly in the $12 range and the occasional special to be offered. Great deal for a delicious lunch!
Whether you are new to the wine scene, or perhaps you are a seasoned grape, Vine & Tap has something for all wine and food lovers.
