Happy Thanksgiving week my friends! Anyone else very excited about eating delicious food and being surrounded by family? I know I sure am! I’m also thrilled to have the week off from my internship. I’m going to be working on some healthy recipes to feature later this week.
Today’s blog post is on an amazing restaurant Village Tavern in Alpharetta, Georgia. A few Atlanta food bloggers, one being my dear friend Erica from Eating With Erica, were invited for an extraordinary restaurant experience. It began with a hands on cooking demo with Executive chef, Mary Grace Viado. First off, Mary Grace is not only a phenomenal cook but she is also the sweetest woman I have ever worked with. She was so patient with us and was so excited to teach us how to cook her recipes. We each got our own cooking station that came with all the ingredients and tools to make the appetizers. We made sugar coated bacon with pimento cheese deviled eggs {recipe coming next week to the blog}. This was actually my first time making deviled eggs! Mary Grace walked us through each step and made sure everything came out correctly. As you can see, I was very proud of how my deviled eggs came out!
Once we were done with the cooking portion of the restaurant experience, we sat down to eat our appetizers and an array of items from their menu. Here are a few pictures I took of the delectable dishes we were give. Keep in mind that these photos don’t give the food credit. Everything taste even better than it looks!
Some of the dishes we tried {most pictured above} included:
- Thai Chicken Nachos {these were my absolute favorite}
- Bacon wrapped scallops
- Cubando sliders
- Mexican street corn
- Mushroom and goat cheese flatbread
- Mixed green salad
- Tavern burger
- Southern shrimp and grits
- Meatloaf
- Keylime Pie
- Butter Cake
Everything was delicious but my ultimate favorite was the Thai Chicken Nachos. They come with a sweet chili sauce that gave them an incredible, unique taste! Village Tavern has some great deals each night including half off appetizer and drinks Monday-Fridays 3-6pm and 9pm to close. Also, they offer $3.50 brunch cocktails on Sundays! You can’t find a better deal than that!
Whether you are looking for a fun place to take the family, or if you are wanting somewhere to grab some drinks with your friends- Village Tavern is your place to go.
