Happy Taco Thursday! Today I want to tell you all about a delicious restaurant, bartaco. With various locations throughout Atlanta, bartaco is home to some of the best margaritas you’ll have in the states. Bartaco prides itself in creating fresh, unique dishes and drinks. They even offer a secret taco once a month! The #bartacosecret is a special off-the-menu taco that was inspired by their feature on Aarón Sánchez’s Taco Trip on the Cooking Channel last month {remember when I was on that episode?!}. I won’t ruin the surprise but trust me- it’s delectable!
I was fortunate enough to visit bartaco with my best friend Haley. We started out bartaco experience with ordering a regular margarita and a watermelon margarita. After taking the first sip we immediately realized why they were known for their drinks- yum! Our lovely waitress told us that you can ask for any flavor margarita and even mix flavors! She said a popular combo is watermelon with a hint of jalapeño! I think I’ll try that one next time!
After ordering our margaritas we got chips, green salsa and fresh made guacamole. I love their twist on the chips (pictured above) and how perfect they paired with the guacamole. We ordered the secret taco, duck, pork belly, fish and sesame ribeye tacos. They were all amazing but my personal favorite was the pork belly. Haley loved the duck because it’s slow cooked and packed with flavor.
Our experience would not be complete without some traditional Mexican sides- street corn and fried plantains. The corn comes covered in cheese and spices while the plantains come with a heavenly tasting white sauce. But seriously- I could have easily eaten it with a spoon like ice cream! I highly recommend getting an order of both.
Aside from the food being delicious and beautifully presented, the ambiance at bartaco transports you to a tropical place. It truly doesn’t feel like you are in Atlanta when you’re sitting on the exquisite porch. If you are looking for a fun new place to take your friends, bartaco won’t disappoint.
