Happy Thursday friends! I am SO excited about todays blog post because I get to share my new kitchen with you! What do you think? I’m obsessed with how it turned out! To be completely honest, this was a very spontaneous idea that quickly came to life. I always wanted a “white” kitchen but I thought it would be way too expensive to make happen. Well my best friend gave me the little push I needed and I called around to get some quotes. I was surprised when the quotes came in because they were HALF of what I was expecting! Read on to get full details of our kitchen renovation!
Kitchen Details
As I mentioned before, I was going for a white, bright, clean kitchen. After calling around to get quotes I went with Impact Countertops because they came high recommended by a friend and they had great prices. I did research on what material to use and I chose white quartz. Quartz is actually harder than granite and thus, more durable. In fact, quartz is nearly indestructible, and because it isn’t porous like granite, it’s easy to keep your countertops relatively bacteria-free.
Once I chose the exact quartz I wanted, I scheduled the template measurement. I then went looking for the perfect sink! I wanted a farm house sink but quickly found out how expensive an exposed one would be! It would also require hiring someone to come in a change our cabinets so I decided to go with something else. Fortunately, I found a beautiful, affordable option at Home Depot! If you follow me on Instagram story you saw that this sink is SO big that I actually fit inside of it! The sink I went with was the KOHLER Cape Dory Drop-In Cast Iron sink. I got it for only $230!! Steal!
Next came the small details! I decided to leave the back-splash our kitchen already had so I did save money there. I did however change out the island chairs to the Serena & Lily Riviera Stools I’ve been wanting for a long time! Trust me, they are even dreamier in person! Lastly, I got a new faucet for the beautiful sink we bought!

Advice
If you are considering re-doing your kitchen take my advice, just go for it. I had budgeted $5,000 for my renovation and ended up only spending $3,000 on everything. Make sure you shop around and get at least 3 quotes. If you are changing sinks like we did, budget money for a plumber! That’s one expense I wasn’t planning on but it worked out in the end because the quartz was more affordable than expected.
Last piece of advice- make sure everything is the way you want it before the granite installers leave. This was one mistake I made because I didn’t know what I was looking for. The sink hadn’t been sealed in but our plumber was nice enough to finish it off.

I LOVE the countertops you selected! We’re hoping to replace our countertops within the next few months so it’s encouraging to hear that it wasn’t too much money! Definitely going to shop around.

The countertops selected for the kitchen were great. I was planning to change the countertops of my kitchen in the coming days. Your blog really helped me in deciding a good style for it. The other information given in the blog was also good. Do share more.
