Happy Tuesday pretty friends! Today I have a very special post because it features one of my absolute favorite shops in all Atlanta- Le Jardin Français. Aside from having the most beautiful floral designs in Atlanta, the Le Jardin Français staff is always eager to help answer any of your questions. Every time I walk into Le Jardin I learn something new. I even had the honor of attending one of their floral design classes taught by owner and incredibly talented designer, Marie-Laure. After attending this class I feel ready to design floral arrangements!
About Le Jardin Français
Le Jardin Français is an international floral and garden design atelier. Their specialty designs have been divided into four components: weddings, floral, garden, and event design. They are further illustrated by each individual season. Choose from beautiful compositions for wedding ceremonies and receptions, vibrant floral structures for every affair, intricate garden designs to enhance the beauty of your home, and memorable designs for distinguished events.
Their inspiration and focus is solely that of the elements of nature. Their creations are representative of the seasons as they change. Their retail store, located inside Westside Provisions, features beautiful flowers that can be purchased by the stem or by full arrangements. They also carry delicious smelling candles and other elegant, unique items for your home.
Floral Design Class
Our class started with Marie-Laure giving us a tour of the store and teaching us about each seasonal flower they carry. We even learned tricks on how to keep certain flowers alive and how to use them in floral arrangements. After our tour we were given two separate demonstrations on how to properly put together fall floral masterpieces. After the demonstrations, Marion, one of the most talented and friendliest floral designers I know, wrapped our thumbs with tape to keep them safe. She then showed us how to safely cut off the stems of our flowers with a sharp knife. This alone was extremely valuable because there truly is a technique to cutting stems.
After learning different techniques, we were able to pick out what flowers we wanted to work with. I went with pretty greens with touches of peach- surprising, right? Marie-Laure and Marion then came around and helped all of us with our floral arrangements. They were such great help because they would answer our questions and explain how we could improve our arrangements. I was very happy with how mine turned out!
If you haver ever wanted to learn how to create a beautiful floral arrangement for any occasion- this class is for you!
