Happy Monday my friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend filled with some delicious meals! Mine definitely was thanks to Dining Out Magazine in Atlanta. Dining Out magazine is a valuable resource for anyone who enjoys exploring new restaurants in Atlanta. This weekend I was able to try out one of the restaurants featured by the magazine- Pastis on Canton Street.
Located on the corner of the vibrant Canton Street, Pastis offers a vast array of wines and French cuisine. If the weather allows, the porch is definitely the place to sit. The restaurant provided us with soft, warm bread followed by a delicious bowl of French-Onion soup. We were then served the restaurants most popular dish- the Croque- Monsieur/Madame. This decadent sandwich consisted of: Toasted Brioche, black forest ham, gruyere cheese, Bèchamel (cream sauce) and a sunny side egg. Please keep in mind that this might not be the healthiest choice but everything in moderation my friends. Absolutely delicious!
The sandwich is relatively small since it is served on a toasted brioche. I thought it was the perfect size since you get a large side with it. The sauce is white cream based and has a mild flavor. You can get the sandwich with or without the egg but I strongly recommend you get it. The sandwich is what I imagine a poached egg sandwich would taste like. Definitely worth trying!
