Hi everyone! I’m Henry and this is my sister Heidi and we are taking over our Mommy’s blog today! Heidi has taken it over before but today is my turn- move over little sister! Did you know August 26th is National Dog Day? That means Mom buys us lots of treats and takes us for an extra long walk. Today we’ve teamed up with Autotrader to bring you the top 3 things we like to do with our Mom and Dad.
Henry and Heidi’s Adventures
1. Bike Rides on the Beltline
One of the safest places to bike in Atlanta is the new Beltline trail. The Atlanta Beltline is providing a network of public parks, multi-use trails and transit by re-using 22-miles of historic railroad corridors circling downtown and connecting 45 neighborhoods directly to each other. We love riding in Mom’s basket and seeing everything along the way! It’s very human and pet friendly!
2. Traveling to the Beach
We love getting in Mom and Dads car and traveling down to 30A, Florida! My Mom lets us run free and we even get to chase seagulls! We try really hard but never seem to catch one. Mom bought a few things off the Autotrader 8 Pet Friendly Accessories for Your Car to keep us safe on our way to Florida. Mom always says “safety first” when we get into the car so we have to go inside our puppy crate. She then puts a seat belt around it. Mom says since we only weigh 5 pounds, we always have to go in our crate. We really don’t mind because she gives us a treat afterward!
3. Eating at Pet Friendly Restaurants
Sometimes Mom lets us get into the car and go eat at restaurants with her. Something she never lets us do is stick our head out the window because she say’s its very dangerous. But when we arrive to restaurants they usually give us a bowl of water and treats!
To celebrate National Dog Day Autotrader is throwing a party on August 26th from 5-8 pm at Historic Fourth Ward Park in Atlanta adjacent to North Ave. and N. Angier Ave. (right next to the Masquerade). And great news- you can even bring your human! We are so excited because there will be free treats, puppy ice cream, dog accessory giveaways, a dog adoption corner, and will feature a series of “pet experts” to offer CPR demos, wellness advice, and more! Autotrader’s resident expert and longtime automotive editor Brian Moody will be in attendance to offer insights on the latest in dog-approved cars – and we’ll have a couple of vehicles on display for your viewing pleasure.
