Happy Wednesday friends! Today I am doing a different type of blog post- my very first beauty tutorial. I have teamed with Lionesse Beauty Bar to show you how to put hair extensions in. First and foremost, I am not a makeup or hair expert. Everything I know how to do I have either learned from Pinterest or my sister. But today I wanted to show you how easy it is to play with extensions, even for someone who is not good at doing hair.
I already have very long hair but I always desire more volume. Bigger the hair, closer to heaven right? Lionesse Extensions instantly enhance the length and volume of your hair with their coordinated collection of professional clip on extensions. These extensions are unlike any other I have ever used before and its probably because they are made with 100% human hair. Not only did they give my hair volume, but they also improved the way my hair looked. So lets jump into a basic hair extension application tutorial.
Step 1: Clips
After washing, blow drying, and ironing your hair straight- begin by clipping the back part of your hair into three sections. This will allow you to determine where you want the hair extensions to go. Also at this time, separate your extensions out on your bed or floor. Divide them up according to how many clips are in the extensions. The extensions with the 3 clips will be going in the back of your hair, since they are the longest and heaviest. The rest you can divide as you please.
Step 2: Hairspray & Tease
Once you have determined your bottom section, use a little hairspray and tease your {as pictured above}. This will give the extensions some texture to hold onto.
Step 3: Instant Clip Extensions
As you can see, the bottom part of my hair is a lot darker than the top part of my hair (reverse ombre). If you have a similar hair color like mine- don’t panic- it will all blend at the end. Remember to use the extensions with 3 clips in them. Put the shorter of the 3 clip extensions on the very bottom {as pictured above}. Its going to seem pretty long at first but the more extensions you put in, the better it will all look.
Step 4: Repeat
Once you have completed the first layer, take down the second layer of hair. Repeat steps but this time using the second 3 clip extension {Hairspray, tease, clip in}.
Step 5: Side Clip Extensions
Once you have completed all three layers of the 3 clip extensions, begin with the side hair extensions. These will have 2 clips in each extension. Whichever direction you part your hair- add an extra clip to the dominate side. Notice that I used my original clips to part my hair to the left. This gave me room to clip my 2 clip extensions.
Step 6: Curls
I think hair extensions look amazing with curls in them. This also helps you blend your real hair into your extensions better. I am absolutely obsessed with my Lionesse Hair Curler because its so large and easy to use. If you desire BIG curls but aren’t too good with doing your own hair- this is the answer to your prayers! Since its so large, it literally only takes putting your hair into it for it to look perfect. No “styling” secrets with this curler- what you see is what you get.
Hope my tutorial helps! A very special thanks to Cynthia Hoyt from Sensibly Sharp for taking these pictures for me. Its such a wonderful thing to have a blogger bestie to help you out with pictures! If you have any questions about the tutorial please feel free to e-mail me.
Xoxo,
