Happy Wednesday pretty friends! I hope you are having a wonderful first week of 2016. I started my critical care rotation yesterday and learning a lot about taking care of very sick patients. I will be in this rotation for the next two weeks then I’m off to my WIC rotation. Although sometimes my internship can be exhausting, I am trying to stay positive and soak in everything I am learning. Speaking of staying positive, that is actually one of my new years resolutions. This year I want to make resolutions with intention. Resolutions that will make me a better person. Here are a few more of my resolutions with intentions-
Learning A New Skill
This December 2016 my best friend Haley and I are traveling to Paris to celebrate our 30th birthdays. Because of that, we both decided we want to learn to speak French. It might be a long shot but we want to learn enough to get by when we visit. I can proudly say that I am half way through lesson 1 of my French Rosetta Stone! Bonjour la France!
Not only will learning French help me in Paris, but it will challenge me mentally. The proven benefits of learning a second language include improvements in intelligence, memory, and concentration and lowered risks of dementia and Alzheimer’s (1). This is the year to learn something new! What will you learn?
Daily Devotionals
Last month my friend Sarah Chancey from Chancey Charm introduced me to an amazing devotional that I have fallen in love with called “Thirty One Days of Prayer for the Dreamer and Doer” by Jenn Sprinkle and Kelly Rucker. It’s perfect for anyone who considers themselves a creative and has BIG dreams. My goal this year is to be good about my devotionals. My faith is a huge part of who I am and my goal is to do a better job incorporating it into my daily life.
Spread More Kindness
This resolution goes hand and hand with staying positive. I hope to spread more kindness in my day to day living. Whether it’s through nutrition, volunteering at a soup kitchen, or simply sending a nice text to a friend- this year I will spread more kindness.
Now that I shared a few of my goals, what are some of your resolutions with intention? If one of yours is to lose weight, how about trying to live an overall healthier lifestyle? I would love to help you achieve this! My Eat Pretty Challenge begins Monday and the goal of the challenge is not weight loss, it’s learning lifestyle ways to be a healthier person. It will focus on food but I will also include other way to live a healthier life.
To get everyone ready for the challenge I have teamed up with one of my favorite local shops, Ink Spot Workshop, to giveaway a $100 gift card to her shop!!
