Happy Wednesday my friends! Lets talk about living in small spaces in the big city. Last month my husband and I decided we wanted to move to the heart of Atlanta and live amongst the high rises. We wanted to experience true city life so we figured we’d move into a city condo until we save for a house. It has been a wonderful experience so far but living in a small space can be difficult. It is imperative you utilize your space efficiently and purchase extra storage. That’s where Christmas Tree Shops andThat! comes in, the newest store to hit Atlanta!
Whoa…Christmas Tree shop for furniture? Yep! And here is how they got their interesting name-
“Christmas Tree Shops started as a holiday gift shop on Cape Cod, but we found customers loved discovering unbelievable deals for all of the holidays and all the seasons. Soon we were scouring the world for great gifts, unique home decor and big name closeouts. We evolved our merchandise selection to fabulous year-round bargains, but our name stayed the same. Locals and the thousands of tourists to New England came to us for everything from gifts to grills to dish detergent, and accepted the name as part of our charm and quirkiness.”
At Christmas Tree Shops andThat! they believe that everybody loves a great deal, loves a fun shopping experience and that everybody loves discovering enticing merchandise and thrilling finds. With that in mind, they have made their stores all about saving money, being surprised and scoring real deals. All under one roof.
Now that you know about this money-saving-amazing-deals-of a store, lets get back to how to get the most out of your small space. I personally spend a lot of time in my kitchen, so naturally I want extra storage space there. Our new kitchen did not have a ton of cabinet space nor an island, so I thought to myself “Luisa, you need to somehow get creative and make more space”. Not being or knowing any carpenters, I decided the best plan would be to install a rolling kitchen island. This beautiful island from andThat! was exactly what I needed- four extra shelves + three drawers for food and storage AND a big counter top. Perfection!
I wanted to keep the work space clean and simple so I decorated it with a few Copper Mugs, flowers, champaign and one of my favorite books. By the way- these beautiful Copper Mugs are only $5.99 a piece!! Perfect for Moscow Mules and other refreshing summer drinks.
A huge thanks to the very talented Shelby from Shelby Rae Photographs for snapping these photo of my little home! She is currently booking weddings, fashion shoots, family photos, portraits and headshots so hurry and shoot her an email (shelbyraephotographs@gmail.com) for a special quote. Trust me friends, you won’t find a better photographer out there.
Whether you live in a small space like us and need more storage or decor, or perhaps you just want to add something new to your home, andThat! has you covered! Stop by their new Kennesaw location or shop online anytime!
