Hi friends! I hope that you had a wonderful Monday night. Today I want to share with you about my perfect Saturday. I try to keep myself busy on the weekends and enjoy the beautiful city of Atlanta. Keep in mind that everything I do is on a student budget. I hope that I can inspire you to get out and do something fun to make your weekends better.
Saturday I started my day with some delicious coffee from Starbucks. My favorite is an iced vanilla latte but I do try to only treat myself once in a while to it. Since I am a petite woman, coffee should be consumed with moderation to prevent osteoporosis. Coffee decreases calcium absorption which is critical for small framed women.
After enjoying a delicious coffee, I met up with a dear friend at a new restaurant (new for me that is) called Chicken and the Egg. For those of you who are new to my blog, you will quickly see that I love trying new restaurants. I have kept a list of all the new places I have eaten at and this is restaurant #161.
Chicken and the Egg was recently named by Open Table as one of the Top 100 brunch places in the nation. It was also featured in Southern Livings’ “Off the Eaten Path” book. And on top of all this…they offer $9 bottomless mimosas during brunch Saturday’s and Sunday’s. You can see why I had to try this place out!
I went with the Fried Chicken and French Toast plate ($13). This delectable dish came with fried chicken tenderloins, cinnamon and vanilla soaked challah, sorghum butter, cane syrup. This salt + sweet assortment was phenomenal.
I have tried chicken and waffles various times but this was my first time eating chicken and french toast. Although they are both very similar, I enjoyed the french toast combination more. I am a huge fan of challah bread because of its buttery taste and soft texture. And this particular one was extra delicious because it had been soaked in vanilla + cinnamon. Delicious!
Let me know if you end up going to Chicken and the Egg and please tell me what you ordered. Tomorrow I will share with you about my Saturday evening at Chastain Park. Thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow my dears!
Xoxo,
