Oscar Wilde famously said, “you can never be overdressed or overeducated.” I have to say Mr. Wilde- I agree with you 100%! Especially about being overeducated. With that being said I think it’s important to always try and learn something new every day and continue to grow as a person. One of the areas I am always interested in improving is my little ole blog. I’ve been blogging for a year now and have learned so much! I’ve made some pretty amazing friends, improved my photography skills and learned what works and what doesn’t work for my blog. But of course there is still so much to learn!
Last week I was fortunate enough to attend The Bloom Workshop here in Georgia. This workshop is put together by two incredibly talented women, Michaela and Ashley. Michaela is an interior designer and Ashley is a professional photographer. Both these women are passionate abut what they do and are eager to share everything they know.
Our workshop took place at The Vinewood Plantation in Newnan, Georgia. Various vendors were kind enough to donate their beautiful products for our goodie bags. Every detail about the workshop was absolutely perfect. From the minute I walked into the workshop, I was greeted with warm coffee and sweet smiles. I met so many wonderful women that share the same passion as me- having a creative outlet they want to improve. We learned about improving our blogs (or starting one), working social media, improving our photography skills and how to style our own shoot. Michaela shared her best interior design secrets and how to take something boring and elevate it into something extraordinary.
My favorite session was the photography skills. Both Michaela and Ashley took us outside to a styled shoot and explained to us how to better use our cameras. Other amazing photographers were there as well -ready to answer any questions we might have. I took lots of notes so I hope my pictures will begin to reflect everything I learned. I also absolutely loved the dessert presentation (duh I’m a fatty remember?). The Blooming Flour Bakery made these stunning cakes for us to photograph and try. I had the creme brûlée, which they paired with an immensely juicy raspberry. It was magical my friends!
Whether you are a brand new blogger, a seasoned blogger, or just want to improve your creative skills- definitely check out the Bloom Workshop. They will be posting their 2015 dates later next month so keep checking their website or Facebook page!

The workshop sounds wonderful! So glad that you enjoyed it – I hope we can make it a point to attend one in 2015 if they come back to the Atlanta-area 🙂 Love your beautiful pictures as well – those cakes are just gorgeous!!

Luisa,
it was SO nice meeting you! I love your recap and am doing a heel-click-happy-dance that your favorite was the photography portion! Explaining manual techniques sometimes seems boring unless someone is truly interested in learning it! I hope you DO come to another Bloom event (hint hint– we MAY have something special coming down south next year that is a twist on the workshop!)
