Ok so you made it to the beach and now you have to sit on a beach chair, drink a piña colada and relax for hours- sounds awful! Just kidding! As amazing as this truly is, sometimes its fun to take full advantage of your vacation and do some fun exploring! This is something my hubby and I love to do on all our trips. This blog post is geared towards fun things to do in South Walton Beach, Florida- but can be applied to any beach town. Here is my guide to having a perfect beach day.
Step 1: Wake up early to get the most out of day.
So you want me to wake up early on my vacation? Hold up! I know this sounds like a terrible idea but trust me- you will want to at least dedicate one day to exploring. That way you can take tons of pictures to send to your friends and make them jealous of how much fun you’re having!
Step 2: Ditch the car and choose a bike.
Not only is this a great form of exercise, but it’s also a great way to capture beautiful moments. Most beach towns will have bike rentals so you don’t have to worry about packing your own.
Step 3: Get some lunch somewhere local and delicious.
My hubby and I decided to treat ourselves to a delicious pizza from Bud and Allies. We figured we deserved it after all the calories we used up biking everywhere! Do your homework ahead of time to see what the best places to grab lunch are! If you are heading down to 30A, check out the website (or app) www.30A.com for all the best spots to eat!
Step 3: Have fun on the beach!
Who says the beach is just for laying still? Bring a fun game or a frisbee to throw around with friends! I personally like to climb on my husband’s shoulders and pretend I’m super tall!
Step 4: Wine tasting on the beach.
Find a fun place to do a little wine tasting with your main squeeze or a group of friends. If you are heading down to Destin- Chan’s Wine World does a super fun wine tasting every Friday night. For only $10 you get to sample 10 different wines from around the world. Don’t forget the cheese plate!
Step 5: Watch the beautiful sunset
And finally, kick off your shoes and watch the beautiful sunset. There is honestly nothing more majestic than watching the sunset over the ocean.
