Happy Hump Day friends! Aren’t three day weekends the best? Today I want to tell you about an event I had the pleasure of attending last week, Bar at the Barre. This fabulous event was hosted by fellow Atlanta bloggers, Peachtree Roadies, at Pink Barre in Buckhead. So what exactly is this Pink Barre I speak of? The Pink Barre method is a barre-based total body workout that combines core elements of pilates, isometric strengthening, ballet, and yoga while using a ballet barre for support. Pink Barre differs from Pure Barre by incorporating cardio into their workout but is similar by targeting the same problem areas of the female body: thighs, abs, seat, and arms. This fun workout (something I never thought was possible) was lead by physical therapist Sarah who kept a smile on her face the whole time.
I’m not going to lie to you- the workout is tough. Within minutes of starting the warm ups, you feel the burn in your arms and legs. BUT- its honestly the most fun I’ve ever had doing a workout. This is because I love structure, friendly people, and feeling the burn from my workout. I also love how 55 minutes flies by because the Pink Barre instructors make it a point to make the workout FUN. I have never been a fan of going to the gym and running on a hamster ball machine. Pink Barre is the exact opposite of this- it is intriguing, difficult, and developed for the female body. My kind of workout! I also loved the ambiance of the Pink Barre studio- from the minute you walk in Tara, founder and studio owner, welcomes you with a smile. She has made it her goal to build a community of strong (literally and figuratively speaking), supportive, healthy women. She too is a physical therapist, which in my opinion- demonstrates she knows what she is doing.
After our awesome workout came the best part yet- the after party! There’s nothing like a sweet reward after a great workout, right?! We were treated to fresh Sushi and Grilled Chicken Sliders from Maki Fresh and a peach splash vodka drink from Vixen Vodka. This is another reason why this event was amazing- I was able to meet the lovely ladies of Vixen Vodka. I had a wonderful conversation with Vixen Vodka CEO, LeeAnn, where she told me all about her amazing product. The idea of Vixen Vodka came after a fun filled girls beach weekend that LeeAnn was on. Her and her friends wanted to create a vodka marketed towards women- a healthier, smoother vodka. Vixen Vodka is crafted in Colorado using corn and Rocky Mountain spring water, then distilled five times– making it incredibly smooth and crisp AND gluten free. Yes my friends- spoken by a nutritionist- this vodka is gluten free! Pretty awesome right? For more information make sure to check out www.vixenvodka.com.
A very special thanks to Peachtree Roadies for putting on this amazing event and inviting me! Also thank you to Tori Allen PR, Tara from Pink Barre studios, Maki Fresh, and the lovely ladies of Vixen Vodka.

I love hiking and biking! Anything that gets me outside to workout is my kind of exercise! I also do a lot of strength training (I don’t like to, but it’s the only thing that makes eating burgers every weekend justified lol).

Luisa! We have the vixen vodka ladies at our fashion events all the time! But my favorite workout would have to be hiking…being outside in the sun! 🙂

I love barre workouts and the Tone It Up workouts. I’m so excited for Frisky Fall to begin tomorrow and a barre class would be perfect to add to the days where it’s a workout of our choice!
