Back to School Shopping Guide at the Mall of Georgia

Happy weekend friends! I usually don’t post on Saturdays but I had to share this back to school guide with you immediately! In case you did not hear, Georgia will not be participating in tax free weekend this year {que tears}. BUT have no fear- my friends at the Mall of Georgia are here to make up for it! This special week is being called “Better Than Tax Free Weekend” and it’s taking place at Lenox Square, Mall of Georgia, North Georgia Premium Outlets, Phipps Plaza and Town Center at Cobb from Friday, July 28-Sunday, July 30. All these malls have a lot to offer but my personal favorite is The Mall of Georgia because it’s a one-stop-shop for a perfect shopping day. With over 225 stores including anchors Macy’s, Von Maur, JCPenney, Dillard’s and Belk, The Mall of Georgia also has delicious restaurants and a IMAX movie theatre!

Back to School Hauls

So what is making this weekend better than tax free? This weekend only, shoppers will receive a $10 American Express Simon Giftcard for every $100 spent, up to $500 total spend while supplies last (visit Simon Guest Services near the Food Court for details). Shoppers are encouraged to share their memorable back to school hauls on social media using #mybtshaul (My Back to School Haul) for a chance to win Simon gift cards and a $5,000 shopping spree. They will also be hosting a Back to School Fashion Event on Saturday, August 5 from 2-4 p.m. Before heading back to class and hitting the books, shoppers are invited to enjoy a sneak peek of the latest back-to-school trends during a fashion show in Von Maur Court near Sephora. Featured fashions will be narrated by Poshe Productions and include looks from participating retailers, including Old Navy, fab’rik, Altar’d State, Gymboree, Buckle, Brooklynn’s, Lizard Thicket and Crazy 8. Activities will also include music from DJ Jeremy; a live dance performance from Peachtree Dance; a photo booth; a braid bar and product samples from VaNicci Salon; a lip bar from Macy’s; giveaways and more to celebrate the last days of summer. Sounds like fun, right?

Shopping Guide

With over 225 stores to choose from, The Mall of Georgia has something for every single person in your family. I went on a little shopping date with baby Robinson yesterday to check out the back to school fun! After spending the day there, I came up with this little guide to help you get the most out of your time at The Mall of Georgia.

In order to get the most out of your day, wear comfortable shoes!
Make sure you hydrate! It’s super hot outside and you will need all your energy for your shopping adventure.
For all my fellow ladies- make a stop at the following stores:
- Altar’d State- you can find super cute blouses, dresses and accessories here! They are also having a great sale on blouses this weekend (buy 1 get 1 half off).
- Francesca’s –another adorable store to find clothing, home decor and the best jewelry! They are also having a great sale where everything in the store is buy 1 get another 60% off!
- Lizard Thicket- I love this store because they have cute shoes, purses and clothing. I found the cutest booties for fall there!
Take a break and grab some lunch at the delectable Alino Pizzeria! If you like spicy food I highly recommend the Diavola Pizza!
