A few things I look forward to during the summer are long days, peach cobbler, lightening bugs and evenings listening to live music. Even though Georgia summer nights can be warm and muggy, I just love being outside and staying up late. Maybe its just my inner child coming out but summer time is just so much fun!
Saturday night kicked off the summer nights for Andrew and I. For our two year anniversary I got him tickets to see the magnificent Il Divo perform at Chastain Park. For those of you who have never heard of Il Divo, they are an English multinational operatic pop vocal group created by Simon Cowell. The group is made up of four, extremely talented, singers from France, Spain, Switzerland, and the USA.
I was especially excited about this concert because it was at Chastain Parks Amphitheatre. This is a beautiful music venue located in Buckhead that allows you to bring your own food and drinks. Andrew and I decided to take advantage of this and make our very own musical picnic. We ran into Whole Foods and made our own salads and picked up a bottle of wine to share.
My salad consisted of spinach, kale, red onions, edamame, quinoa, corn, tomatoes, carrots, chickpeas, a hard boiled egg, and shredded chicken. Since I am embracing the summer time, I went with their Raspberry Mint dressing. Delicious! Some nutrients in this salad:
~Vitamin D – Egg
~Vitamin A- Carrots, Kale, Egg,
~Vitamin K- Kale, Spinach, Onion
~Riboflavin- Egg, Chicken
~Vitamin C- Tomato, Corn, Onion
Such a wonderful evening under the stars. Make sure you check out Chastain Parks website to see what other wonderful concerts you can catch this summer.
