A special thanks to ParentEducate.com for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Happy Monday friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Our weekend was filled with yard work and spending time with our little ones. Speaking of kids, today I want to share a great resource that I have been using this past month-ParentEducate.com. Even though I have extensive experience working with children, I always find myself researching specific questions about my own children. As parents we cannot be expected to know everything and that is why it’s important to constantly be learning and educating ourselves. That’s where ParentEducate.com comes to the rescue! So what exactly is this website all about?
About ParentEducate.com
ParentEducate.com is where parents go to learn from an ever-growing library of 80+ online research-based courses. With ParentEducate.com, parents can quickly become fluent in infant, toddler and preschool care through brief 20-30 minute courses. ChildCare Education Institute, the No. 1 trainer of pre-k and daycare teachers, is behind ParentEducate.com — so all courses are packed with the same skills and techniques taught to leading early childhood educators. All courses are available 24/7 on any device and can be started/stopped at any time, allowing families to conveniently learn how to parent like a pro. This is ideal for us busy Moms because we can take the quick courses in between naps and bedtime! At least that’s what I have been doing!
Courses I am Loving: Nutrition and Fitness
A few courses that I found helpful were the nutrition and fitness courses. When people find out that I am a pediatric registered dietitian they immediately start asking me questions about their children’s diet. I’m so glad to have found ParentEducate.com because now I can simply tell them to check out the website and sign up for a few of the nutrition courses. For example, they have a course called “Nutrition for Children.” This course provides an overview that will help parents develop healthy nutritional habits for their child. This course dives deeper into how healthy habits begin at home and how you as a parent can influence your child’s eating habits for life.
Another course I have been loving is the fitness course (Fit for Life). Since I have a very active 4 year old I was interested in learning more about ways to keep him engaged. This course provides you with strategies and methods to improve physical fitness and incorporate movement activities with your child. I strongly recommend every parent check this course out- especially if you are struggling with keeping your child active or you are worried about their weight.
As mentioned above, there are over 80 online research based courses to pick from. Aside from the fitness and nutrition courses I also have a few other courses saved in my profile. I plan to learn about car passenger safety, home safety and childhood stress. Even if I just learn ONE new thing from these courses, it will be worth it.
