Happy Tuesday pretty friends! I hope you are having a wonderful week so far. If you follow along my blog you’ve definitely seen that I have an obsession with candles, in particularly with the boutique Candlefish. But can you blame me? Their boutique and candles are absolutely beautiful! And they smell even better than they look. Back in January I was fortunate enough to attend a candle making class in Charleston with my sister {read about it here}. I also got to attend one in their new Atlanta store at Ponce City Market last month!
Candlefish at Ponce City Market
For those of you who are not from Atlanta- Ponce City Market (PCM) is a new mixed used development located in a historic building in Atlanta, with national and local retail anchors, restaurants, a food hall, boutiques, offices and residential units. It has become the best place to hang out in Atlanta because their is so much to do there. Any time one of my friends comes into town I take them to PCM. And now that Candlefish has a store inside PCM, it’s even more perfect!
As you can see by my pictures above, the new Candlefish store is super cute! You can stop in and pick up a candle from their famous library or you can sign up for one of their candle making classes. I highly recommend doing the class because not only is it a great deal {only $55 for the class and you get to take home TWO 9 oz candles} but its a super fun experience. I’ve seen a lot of ladies bring their girlfriends for a ladies night but lately I’ve seen a lot of couples go for a date night! They have plenty of “manly” scents so its fun for everyone! Also, their classes are BYOB so bring the beer or the wine!
The Candle Making Process at Candlefish
Still on the fence if the class is for you? Well I’m here to tell you about my experience. Both times I’ve done the class have been amazing and I learn something new each time. When you first arrive you check in and go sit down next to a pre-prepped station. Once everyone arrives and you’ve poured yourself a glass (or two) of wine, your chancellor will kick off the class!
After your chancellor does her intro and explains how the class will work, you go and pick out your candle scent! This is by far the most difficult part of the class. They have 100 scents in their library so narrowing it down to ONE scent is tough! But it can be done my friends! For my Atlanta class I went with their #008 which was a soft floral smell.
Once you pick out your scent, the actual candle making process begins. Each step is explained in great detail by your chancellor. You take turns filling up your candle with wax, mixing your scent into it, setting the wick and finalizing the pretty details. You can then pick up your candle a few hours later or come back the next day. They even offer shipping if you are visiting!
Sounds like such a fun experience, right? From someone who has done it twice now I can honestly tell you it’s a blast and definitely worth doing. Ready to sign up? Click here to see the April Atlanta schedule and see which class works for you. Use promo code peachestopearls to save 15% off your sign up fee! That will bring your class to $46.75- what a steal! Hurry and sign up quickly before classes fill up!
Whether you are looking for a creative date night with your love, or perhaps a fun ladies night, the Candlefish candle making class is for you!
