Hi Friends!
Guess what? I am all done with my first semester of graduate school! That means I have a whole month to dedicate to writing on my blog!
Today I want to tell you about the last three restaurants I went to. My list is now up to 117 new restaurants in Atlanta!
Restaurant #115: Parma
Parma is a little tavern in Buford next to the Mall of Georgia. I heard about its famous Krispy Kreme Doughnut Burger and knew I had to try this place! So that’s exactly what we did, we went for the burger.
We decided it would be best to share the burger. The average Krispy Kreme burger consists of about 1400 calories (depending on your topping) so this is something you should do once every…lifetime. The original Krispy Kreme dougnut burger was found in Decatur, Georgia and was named the “Luther Burger” after Luther Vandross. The chef ran out of burger buns so he used doughnuts instead. Genius!
The burger was quite delicious but very filling. Andrew and I split it and I couldn’t even finish my half! So how does a burger like this taste? Well you bite into this delicious, warm, burger and as you savor the meat you get a kick of vanilla doughnut. Its dinner and dessert in one! Yummy!
Restaurant #116: Da Via
Da Via is a brand new restaurant that opened in Sandy Springs. It offers a new way of eating Italian food! I would compare their concept to Moes, Chipotle, or Subway. You begin by ordering from the hot iron: Piada, Past Bowl, Tossed Salad Bowl, Piada Stick, or Kids Bowl. The Piada is a traditional Italian wrap heated and stuffed with your favorite meats, cheeses, and veggies (ourvia.com). After you choose the hot iron item you choose a grill item, homemade sauce, and toppings.
I went with the chicken Piada. I put the traditional spaghetti in it, light Alfredo sauce, cucumbers, spring mix, red onions, tomatoes and balsamic dressing. It was so good! It was like eating a delicious Italian burrito!
The manager, Scott, came out to talk to my friend and I while we had lunch. He introduced himself and thanked us for trying them out. He then saw we were studying and asked us how he could attract more students to the restaurant. I suggested he do a student discount night! He said it was a great idea and he would give it a shot! He also gave us free Tiramisu! It was one of the best Tiramisu’s I’ve ever had!
Restaurant #117: Blue Grotto Sushi and Tapa’s
There are certain nights where I just crave sushi. Its a fantastic way of getting my protein and omega 3 fatty acids! I always try to go to a new place so I can recommend them to people. Blue Grotto Sushi and Tapa’s is definitely going to be recommended by me!
Andrew and I found Blue Grotto on Scoutmob so make sure you show them the 50% discount on your phone. We ordered 3 rolls: Ocean Roll, Fuji Roll, and Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll. They were all good but the Spicy Tuna was unbelievably delicious. Best spicy tuna I have ever had!
I hope you enjoyed learning about some new restaurants in Atlanta! Let me know if you go to any of these and what you thought! 🙂
