Happy Monday my friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Today I’m doing another Atlanta restaurant review- Tin Drum Asiacafe. I usually don’t cover restaurants with multiple locations, but Tin Drum’s food is a must try in Atlanta. With various gluten free options, Tin Drum is perfect for a casual summer lunch date in the city.
Tin Drum Asiacafé is making a fresh start to the summer and paying homage to the flourishing metropolis of Saigon – the largest city and most significant sea port in the country of Vietnam – with its latest menu specials. Available May 4 through August 2, Saigon Summer features two pork dishes inspired by traditional Vietnamese cuisine with a Tin Drum twist:
- Pork Banh Mi ($4.75) – sweet and smoky pork loin, pickled daikon and carrot, red pepper aioli and cucumber wrapped in grilled Asian roti and finished with cilantro.
- Nom Nom Pork Bowl ($8.50) – sweet and smoky pork loin, chili vinaigrette rice noodle, pickled daikon and carrot served on a bed of fresh kale, mint and basil. Topped with roasted peanut, fresh jalapeño and cilantro.
During the Saigon Summer promotion, you can add a pork banh mi to any regular priced entrée for only $3. On Fresh Fridays, enjoy a nom nom pork bowl and a fountain drink for $7.
I was fortunate enough to try both these delicious dishes last week. I absolutely loved them! I would recommend starting your meal with a crab and cheese spring roll. Its flavorful and very fluffy- two things I love! Speaking of flavor, the Pork Banh Mi was packed with bold flavors- spicy with a hint of sweet. If you want a healthier option I strongly suggest the Nom Nom Pork Bowl. It sits on a bead of fresh kale, mint and basil so you know its packed with flavor. Finally, end your lunch with a chocolate covered fortune cookie. Yum!
With 13 locations throughout Atlanta and the metro Atlanta area, Tin Drum Asiacafé focuses on fresh, affordable, Asian street food. Inspired by both music and bustling Asian street-side cafes, the menu carries bold flavor profiles while all food is cooked fresh to order in an open kitchen. The space invites all budgets, taste buds and styles, and looks to elevate the fast casual dining experience with thoughtful, modern design elements and surprising, delightful details.
