Happy Tuesday Friends! How’s the Eat Pretty Challenge going for you all? It’s been going great for me! I’ve been focusing on my water and fiber intake, I can already feel the difference! One challenge that I face from to time to time while running errands is finding a healthy place to grab a bite to eat in the city. It’s also common to overlook nutritious eating if faster, cheaper options are available, especially when you are short on time! If you can relate, well I’ve got you covered! I’ve selected my top 5 healthy places to eat in Atlanta.
1. Kale Me Crazy
Kale Me Crazy is a great place to get a quick nutritious meal! They offer delicious smoothies, açaí bowls, cleansing juices, fresh poke bowls, hearty salads, wraps, coffee and more. With 9 locations in Atlanta this is a perfect choice for “on the run” real food! I recommend trying their Poke Bowl, avocado toast (my favorite in the city!) and their ginger shot!
2. Upbeet
Upbeet offers quite a selection of delicious food choices that can satisfy anyone’s one taste buds. You can create your very own grain bowl masterpiece or choose one from the menu. Some of their clever named grain bowl options include “The Bachelor” “Spin Class” “Them Apples” and “Hot Chickpea” just to name a few. They also have yogurt bowls, an assortment of tasty toasts, superfood lattes and kombucha. You can’t go wrong with any choice at Upbeet.
3. Flower Child
Flower Child is True Food Kitchen’s sister restaurant. There are 2 locations of this charming restaurant in Atlanta. With an expansive menu, you can find just what you’re looking for here. They serve gluten free options, vegan, vegetarian, and more. Some dishes you can find on the menu include Tomato Toast, Mother Earth Bowl. My personal favorite is the create your own plate option! I always go with the salmon, red chili glazed sweet potatoes and gluten-free Mac and cheese. SO GOOD!
4. Gusto!
Gusto! is popping up in every neighborhood! Their motto is ” Shake yourself awake….Live today with Gusto!” and resinates within the minute you step in one of their locations. Gusto! provides a step by step layout to help create your perfect healthy bowl or salad. You can even have the best of both worlds with their 1/2 and 1/2 option where you get both rice and salad in your bowl. You choose your protein, choice of sauce ( I had the chile sesame) and to top off a bag of sweet potato chips. Make sure you stop by their newest location in West Atlanta!
5. SAMA Food For Balance
Last but certainly not least is a Buckhead favorite, SAMA Food for Balance. Their choice of menu options are packed with flavor with dishes influenced primarily by Mediterranean cuisine. {SAMA}, meaning “balance” in Sanskrit, seeks to help the Atlanta community find balance in their body, mind, and soul using Ayurveda principles and seasonal, market-fresh ingredients. I recommend trying their Balance Bowls and their dragon fruit smoothie!
