No matter what mood you may be in, you can find exactly what you need at Atlas in Buckhead. Tucked away at the base of the beautiful St. Regis Hotel, Atlas provides an unparalleled culinary experience. Whether it’s grabbing a few hand-mixed cocktails at the laid back Atlas Tavern, or being seated underneath a 20th century Picasso in the upscale dining room.
We were pleasantly greeted by the staff at Atlas and introduced to the Tavern, Atlas’s casual, small plate dining area that’s made it’s name for delicious seasonal cocktails and delicious food options. Our wonderful bartender Carl got our evening started with a couple of hand-shaken cocktails, most notably the “Fireside”. Carl also introduced us to his own signature creation utilizing scotch as the main spirit. I was a bit skeptical when I saw that the main ingredient was scotch whiskey. When I think of scotch I typically don’t think of delicious mixed drinks, but Carl definitely changed my mind on that!
We took our drinks outside to enjoy the patio and our plates from the Tavern menu. Our first dishes included the Citrus-Cured Kampachi and our personal favorite, the Yukon Gold Potato Gnocchi made with rabbit Italian sausage, shiitake mushrooms, roasted garlic, parmesan, and fine herbs. Phenomenal!
After we finished our appetizers in the Tavern (and maybe one more round of drinks from Carl) we were taken into Atlas’s more upscale dining room for dinner. The host was gracious enough to sit us under an actual 20th century Picasso!
WIth the help of the wonderful sommelier, Sam, we had wine pairings with delicious dishes like the Atlas Young Sprouts Salad and the Maine Lobster en Croute. Sam’s recommendations paired perfectly with the fresh seafood and even the dill in the sprouts salad!
Lucky for us, Atlas is the home to one of the most talented pastry chefs in Atlanta! We capped off dinner with a truly unique dessert called, “The Pinecone”. This dark chocolate sphere with hazelnut mousse and mandarin sauce made it very difficult to share!
Overall Atlas exceeded any expectation we had. Atlas is one of those rare restaurants in Atlanta that lives up to all the hype! We cannot recommend it enough. Whether you just want high quality tavern food, or perhaps you are celebrating something special, Atlas is for you.
