Happy Wednesday, friends!
I wanted to share a little look back at our chicken coop through the years—scroll through for a few photos that hold so many memories. Sadly, we’ve made the decision to retire this beloved coop and start fresh with a new one.
Since moving to our current home, we’ve been facing serious flooding issues every time it rains. Unfortunately, when we first placed the coop in the yard, we didn’t realize it was in a low-lying area that’s essentially a flood zone. Over time, the constant water exposure has taken a toll—the wood has been rotting, and the structure is quite literally falling apart.
So, after a lot of thought (and a little heartbreak), we’ve decided it’s time for a change. We’ll be building a new coop in a drier, more suitable area of the yard. While we’re not planning to start construction until winter, we’re officially in the planning phase of this big project.
Stay tuned as we map out ideas, share inspiration, and get ready for a fresh start for our feathered friends!
