The following post is sponsored by the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Atlanta but all opinions, photo and positive experiences are my own!
Every summer my husband and I do a little Atlanta staycation to enjoy everything our beautiful city has to offer. This year was extra special because it was Robinson’s first time joining us. Since he was only 3 months old, it was very important for us to find a hotel that was walking distance to everything. We were fortunate enough to find the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown, which is located in the heart of Atlanta’s best attractions. Aside from the excellent location, the hotel also provided exceptional service! Everyone was so friendly and eager to help us in anyway possible. Here is a guide on how to make the best out of a weekend stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown.
8:00 AM- Breakfast at the Hotel
Rise and shine! Time for a fun filled day! Kick off the day with an easy ride in the elevator to the hotels restaurant in the City View room. Known for their famous French Toast, this was some of the best hotel breakfast we’ve had! They have a buffet but certain items are cooked to order. Like the French toast, pancakes and omelettes! I got one of each and they were fantastic!
9:30am The World of Coca Cola
First up is the famous World of Coca-Cola museum! This museum showcases the history of The Coca-Cola Company and what Coco-Cola has evolved to. You even get to sample different Cokes from all over the world! So neat! Make sure you get there early though, it gets busy fast!
11:00pm Lunch at STATS Atlanta
After a fun filled morning at the Coca-Cola Museum, a delicious lunch is a necessity! Located directly across from the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown is STATS! This fun restaurant is home of the famous Dirty Bird sandwich {pictured above}. Named after the Atlanta Falcons, this sandwich will not disappoint! It’s cooked to perfection and comes with a spicy mayonnaise and cole slaw. Yum!
With a little time to kill, walk back to the hotel to freshen up and/or take a nap! I took this time to nurse baby Robinson in the comfort of our room and change his diaper. So convenient to have a hotel walking distance from everything!
1:30pm Center for Civil and Human Rights
After a quick power nap we are ready to resume our adventures in Downtown Atlanta! Next up on the list is the The Center for Civil and Human Rights– a museum dedicated to the achievements of both the civil rights movement in the United States and the broader worldwide human rights movement.
This was hands down my favorite place we visited all weekend. The museum is brand new so it’s up to date on current civil issues. It was humbling to see and learn about how far we have come in just a few years!
3:00pm Children’s Museum of Atlanta
If you are traveling with your family, we recommend adding the Children’s Museum of Atlanta to your plans! This museum is not like your typical museum, it is the ultimate place for kids to play, learn and ignite their curiosity. And it’s the only museum in Atlanta designed specifically for kids!
6:00pm Dinner at Glenn’s Kitchen
Last but not least on the agenda is supper at Glenn’s Kitchen Atlanta. Tucked away inside the Glenn Hotel, this restaurant offers American comfort food with southern flair from appetizers like our Smoked Trout Dip or Crab Cake, to entrées like Shrimp and Grits, Fried Georgia Chicken, Cornmeal Crusted NC Trout or our classic GK Cheeseburger. We highly recommend ordering one of their seafood options! The Shrimp and Grits in particular was phenomenal!
7:00pm Bed time
After a very delicious meal, we walked back to our hotel and went to sleep in our comfy bed! We had such a wonderful time enjoying our city and seeing new attractions.
