A special thanks to my friends at Président® Brie cheese and Kroger for sponsoring this post. All thoughts, opinions and recipe are my own.
Happy Thursday friends! Who is starting to prep for the holidays? I’m going to be hosting a few family members this year so I’m starting to plan our menu. One appetizer I plan to make this year is my famous baked brie with cranberry sauce and pecans. This recipe is a go-to for me because it’s super easy and delicious — two things I need during the busy holidays. I always use Président® Brie cheese that can be found at your local Kroger because it’s creamy in texture and pairs perfectly with the sweet cranberry sauce. I also love that it’s crafted in the French tradition from 100% cow’s milk. Yum! No wonder it’s the #1 brand of Brie in France and the United States!
I’m sure you have seen plenty of baked brie recipes but what makes this one special is how basic and easy it is to make. I buy the whole berry cranberry sauce in a can to save time. You can use frozen as well but the can is easier and you don’t have to add anything to it. Have leftover cranberry sauce from Thanksgiving dinner? Use that too! It’s a great way to use leftovers!
Follow these tips for perfectly baked brie every time:
- Choose your cheese. As mentioned above I always use Président® Brie cheese because of its flavor AND its shape. You will want to use a round brie in order to properly execute this recipe. It will also look prettier!
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Any higher than that and you risk having the cheese get too hot too quickly and ooze out of the rind during baking. You can also burn the rind and alter the taste of the recipe.
- Place your brie on a piece of parchment paper on a sheet pan or a round cast iron. I use a round cast iron so I won’t risk losing the shape of the rounded brie.
- Bake for 10 – 15 minutes. You’ll know the brie is melted through if you touch the top of the rind and it jiggles underneath.
- Allow the brie to cool for at least 5 minutes before transferring it to a serving dish. Use the parchment paper as handles to lift the brie up and move it to the dish. What I like about Président® Brie cheese is both sides of the cheese have a rind which makes it easy to flip on your serving dish.
- Spoon the cranberry sauce over the warm brie and serve with crackers.
I hope you enjoy this recipe! It’s always a hit in my family because you can’t go wrong with baked cheese!
