Happy Wednesday friends! If you follow me on Instagram stories, you saw the incredible dining experience my husband and I had last week at Atlas. Although we have dined there various times, this time was extraordinary because we got to try their new Tasting Menu. Today I want to share this culinary experience with you and show how you too can try it out!
Atlas Tasting Menu
Located in the heart of Buckhead, Atlas has quickly turned into one of my all time favorite restaurants for its spectacular cuisine and hospitality. Every time I dine at Atlas I leave in awe of how I was treated by their whole staff. From the hostess greeting us with a warm smile, to our very friendly waiter Brian, everyone at Atlas makes you feel welcomed. As mentioned, we went to visit Atlas this past Friday to experience their new Tasting Menu option. This tasting menu will be offered along with their full menu AND a vegetarian tasting menu! You pay a set price and Executive Chef Christopher Grossman curated a multi -course tasting menu using seasonal ingredients. Although the dishes will change, pictured above are all the exquisite dishes we got to try.
- Dish 1: Amouch Bouche of caviar
- Dish 2: Squash soup with edible flowers
- Dish 3: Tomato Watermelon Salad with small splash of gazpacho
- Dish 4: Lobster stuffed into pastry puff
- Dish 5: Truffle Mushroom Agnolotti
- Dish 6: Sautéed Cobia
- Dish 7: Veal with Cherry Puree
- Dish 8: Palate cleanser- Apricot Sorbet
- Dish 9: Fig and Cheese Toast
- Dish 10: Peruvian Cacao Pod
As you can see this is truly a feast! Everything was divine and was perfectly paired with wine hand selected by sommelier Samuel. He took the time to explain every wine pairing to us and why he chose that specific wine. We also got to meet and chat with pastry Chef Christian Castillo. He was incredibly kind and explained his inspiration behind his masterpiece dessert, the Peruvian Cacao Pod. He told us the had recently visited Peru and stayed with a local family who showed him their cacao farm. He fell in love with the concept and came back to make this decadent dessert (last picture above). The yellow portion of the dessert represents the cacao pod which sits on top of a cocoa crumble that represents soil. It also comes with Lucuma Crème Brûlée and Lucuma Ice Cream. Absolutely heavenly!
