A special thanks to our friends at Reunion Resort and Golf Club for inviting us on this fun trip! All thoughts, opinions and photographs are my own.
Happy travel Thursday friends! I hope you are having a great week so far. Today I want to share our fun trip to Orlando with you! Even though I have been to Orlando a dozen times, this trip was extra special because I got to see it through the eyes of my 2 year old. Needless to say, he loved every minute of it! Keep reading to learn all about where we stayed, where we ate and what we did during our 3 day visit to Orlando, Florida!
Where We Stayed: Reunion Resort
During our time in Orlando we had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful Reunion Resort and Golf Club. It was our first time staying there and it will certainly not be our last! From the minute you drive into the gated community, you are immediately captivated by the beautiful grounds. The resort’s accommodations include luxury one-, two- and three- bedroom Villas plus multi-bedroom Vacation Rental Homes. The accommodations include spacious living and dining areas, full kitchens, patios and balconies. The crown jewel of the resort, the 11 story Reunion Grande features their most luxurious one- and two-bedroom Estate Villas. Centrally located next to the Golf Clubhouse, Reunion Grande offers quick access to Guest Services, a rooftop pool, restaurants and shops. This is actually where we got to stay so it was quite the treat!
As you can see by the photos above, our room was very spacious and even came with a full kitchen. This would be an ideal set up for any families visiting Orlando because you could make meals at the resort!
Where We Ate
Although we ate quick meals throughout the weekend, we did make it a point to dine at one of the resorts restaurants, Eleven. Sitting atop the Reunion Grande on the 11th floor, Eleven is a modern steak house that comes with an exquisite view. Farm to table elements showcase Eleven’s creative menu offerings coupled with premium steak cuts and signature entrees.
We started the evening out with drinks and their famous Filet Mignon Eggroll appetizer! These were recommended by our fabulous waitress, Madison, and they definitely did not disappoint! They were unique and definitely something you need to try if you dine at Eleven! Even if you just go in for drinks- make sure you order this appetizer!
After our appetizer we went outside to their beautiful rooftop patio to snap some pictures at sunset!
For our main entrees we both decided to go with steaks! Drew got the Prime New York Strip with chimichurri and I got the Prime Bone-In Cowboy Ribeye with truffle balsamic glaze. Both were cooked to perfection!
One of the best parts about Eleven is that kids currently eat free with a purchase of an adult entree! Keep that in mind when you visit with your family!
What We Did
We stayed very busy during our three day visit to Orlando! Thankfully Reunion Resort is located just 20-30 minutes from all the fun theme parks. On Friday we went to Discovery Cove and had an amazing time swimming with the dolphins. I’ll be doing a full blog post on that experience next week so stayed tuned!
On Saturday we went to Sea World to check out their new Sesame Street Land! This was absolutely perfect for our 2 year old because every ride and experience catered to his age group! He rode on Elmo’s Choo Choo Train, the sea animal carousel and even danced in the parade! He had a blast meeting one of his favorite characters, Elmo!
After spending all morning at Sea World, we headed to the resorts water park! That’s right, Reunion Resort has its own mini water park! Complete with water slides, a lazy river and poolside food and beverage services, the water park is fun for everyone in the family!
Lastly, Drew spent some time golfing! Robinson tried to tag along but he had to stay back and take a nap with his Mom. Drew enjoyed his time out on the course while we relaxed back in the room. The resort offers three amazing courses to choose from: The Nicholas, The Palmer, and The Watson. When I asked him how his round went, he said he spent so much time in the sand that he should have packed sunscreen! To be honest I’m not quite up to date on my golf lingo but I don’t think that’s a good thing.
Whether it was in the sand or in the water, we definitley had a family vacation for the ages.
